Opera Group

 

Love opera, but don't get an opportunity to attend?  Here is your chance to see live performances, simulcast from the New York Metropolitan Opera House on the big screen.  We meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Famous Players Theatres, Orchard Plaza 5, on Saturdays about once a month.  Tickets are approx. $16.00.  After the opera some of us will go for lunch.  Participants will be contacted with information about the next upcoming opera and will have a chance to reserve for lunch. Bowling

This group is a joint activity of Newcomers and Plus 3s.  We bowl at the Capri Lanes every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from September through April.  The cost is $10.50 for regulars and spares.  Regulars also pay $25.00 in September to cover the cost of lunch and prizes at the May wind-up.

Walking Group

This group is a joint activity of Newcomers and Plus 3s.  We meet once a week on Thursday mornings at 9.30 a.m. throughout the year.  We walk for about an hour and the route is usually over flat terrain.  We will notify you of the route and meeting place by email or telephone several days in advance.  Come and join us for some interesting walks and great exercise.  To find out more, contact Denis Davis

 

Stitch and Chat

A friendly welcome will be yours when you join us as we stitch or chat as only women can.  We meet in each other’s homes on the first and third Thursday, of each month.  **Frank Renshaw and any other gentlemen who would like to join us are most welcome – just be sure to bring your knitting. Not knowing how is no excuse we will be more than happy to teach you. Take home a newly knitted dishcloth in any color of the rainbow for your wife or significant other.

 Ladies Bridge

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 11:45 a.m., for lunch and Bridge, at Lakeshore Place, 3200 Lakeshore Road.  Cost is $7.50, which includes both lunch and Bridge.  New members are most welcome.  Contact Charlotte Chabrian

Couples Bridge  

Couples Bridge is held on the third Friday of each month in members’ homes.  It is open to couples or to single members who wish to bring a partner.  The host may change the date to accommodate any conflicting events.  New members are welcome.  If you would like to join this group, either as regulars or spares

Wine Tasting Group

This group is for anyone interested in trying different wines and/or learning about wine.  We taste wines from different regions, or varietals, or countries.  We meet monthly in most months of the year in participants’ houses on rotation.   Price varies from month to month according to the wines poured. Pub Night

Members meet at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at a variety of pubs and restaurants.  This is a great way to keep in touch with friends and sample Kelowna’s pub and restaurant life.  

  If you wish to attend, call Ingrid Dicks.  Please contact Ingrid the day before the Pub Night at the latest if you have not signed up and want to attend or if you have signed up, but find you cannot make it.

 

Sunday Brunch

Once again we find an excuse to eat out in convivial company.  Brunches are held on the first Sunday of the month at 11:30 a.m. noon throughout the year except for July and December.

Men’s lunches are held on the same day as Ladies’ lunches with the same philosophy of good food at reasonable prices.  We choose locations close to the Ladies’ lunch venue.  Registered attendees are notified by phone or email of the locations.

Coffee Break

Everybody is welcome to join us at 10:00 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Timothy’s in the food court at Orchard Park Mall.  Unisex!

Muffin Basket

An opportunity for the ladies to get together to chat and visit, have some coffee or tea and enjoy some light snacks. 

Muffin Basket will be held on the lst Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon.

All those who sign up for Muffin Basket will receive an email notifying them of the exact date, time and location.  You will be asked to RSVP to the hostess of the month you are attending so she can arrange to have the correct amount of refreshments.  Participant will be asked to take a turn at hosting the muffin basket and/or provide goodies.  If the number attending is small – the hostess will provide the eats.  If the number attending is larger – she will request contributions from one or two other members.  It is a casual, fun morning to share with your friends.

The Non Fiction Club is offering Plus Three members an opportunity to read and share ideas about books related to business and the economy, history and geopolitics as well as the lives of important people (biography). The Travel Club will act as a forum for the interchange of travel information. Interested Plus Three members will submit a list of the regions and/or countries they have visited for the database.
